The Creator Psychology Glossary
In 2020, a study of the audiences of four beauty influencers popular in France found that viewers felt a stronger one-sided connection to an influencer when they thought the influencer shared their opinions, and that the influencer's physical attractiveness showed a negative relationship or none at all. Researchers have a name for that sense of sharing someone's opinions: attitude homophily. Every entry describes what happens in ordinary language, gives the term second, and then names the study it comes from, including what the researchers measured and how far the result reaches. The terms are ones that show up in content advice, so you can tell what a phrase like "parasocial" means before you act on it.
